Do you think when your name is Jay-Z, you eventually get to a point where no matter how many clown-rappers come out and try to knock you off your thrown, you really just can not be phased? You’ve already proven yourself tried and true, you’ve addressed any would-be character assassin years in advance, and you no longer have to fight to stay alive. That’s probably why if your name is Jay-Z, you talk about Michael Jordan so much - because like Michael Jordan, your accomplishments and influence are no longer questionable. You did what you did in your career, and any further success is only the cherry on top. When your name is Jay-Z, you can probably just kick back with ‘Barb’, and point at the scoreboard - calmly repeating to all who would question you, “Scoreboard, scoreboard”. Don’t you think?
