behind closed doors indeed

Live from the sometimes disturbing but always fascinating “found randomly on myspace” files… it’s a little caucasian boy rapping over a Pharoahe Monch track: Behind Closed Doors - The Unidentified White Kid Remix
If memory serves correctly, what was really odd about this particular find (besides the little fella’s spirited re-working of the lyrics) was that the kid, who couldn’t have been much older than 11 or 12, had pictures of himself throwing up crazy blue rags and c-walking like a muuuuug. Word is bond, he had his little pink hand curled up in a full C with a blue bandana tied around it, I sh-t you not. Myspace is a certified trip, boy.
Anywhooo… this all came to mind today because Da Ruffian AKA HB! (his pals call him hard body) just revisited Pharoahe’s 1999 solo debut over in the ol’ reviews section… here goes!

For all those who feel hip hop is dead you must not have ever been to the A3C Hip Hop festival, which is being held this year March 20-22 in Atlanta, Ga. This festival is the complete package of hip hop culture, containing live musical acts, producer battles, b-boy battles, an urban fashion show, and appearances from hip hop legends. It has included such artist as souls of mischief, solilliquists, murs, collective efforts, and many other underground artist. This year I have heard some crazy rumors about an earth shattering hip hop performance and can’t wait to find out who it is. So if you have lost faith in hip hop or maybe are questioning your love for hip hop this is probably the event to help rekindle the love!!!!!
