Friday’s Q&A
Question: Mr. Len was one third of the groundbreaking group Company Flow. Name the other two members.
Answer: El -P and Big Juss
Winners: R. Cruz, Stephanie C., Daniel K,, Ron J.
I was an early Company Flow fan. To be more specific I was an Indelible MC’s fan. Anyone remember them? “Fire In Which You Burn”, “Weight”
That is for real underground old schoolers right there.
After the Funcrusher EP they started to lose me, I have to be honest. The El P stuff I never got into. A little too dissonant for my taste. I guess I like 4/4 time a bit too much.

Friday’s Q&A
Along with Twista, then known as Tung Twista, this trio which included Coke, Motif and Dr. Soose were one of the first acts signed to Loud Records.
Answer: Madkap (why did so many say Speedknot Mobstaz? was it Twista in the question?)
Winners:
Angela A., Shout out to Clef Squad!
Saj S., Big-ups to WesJack!!! (INTERN ALUM ALERT, Wes says ‘what up family’)
Jahmar D., Shout out to everybody attending the Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam!
Madkap was classic Golden Era, Native Tongues derivative. I remember getting this record back when I was on the radio at UVa (shout out to WTJU and The Boom Bip Journey).
First off they had the ill mutlicolor logo (which an extensive Google search could not find).
And what seems like a gimmick now but was quite provacative back in ‘93 was the trumpeter as part of the group. I still think that was a good idea. They were adding live instrumentation before The Roots and whatever pseudo elitist/mash up clone that followed.
Who would have known Steve Rifkind would go from happy go lucky backpacker to Queensbridge and Staten Island thuggery. What a journey, But that is another story which we tell…
“Da Whole Kit and Kaboodle”
“Proof Is In The Puddin”
